MNL-SIN-BTH Travel

This is probably my most impulsive choice of destination. Booked my ticket on the 10th of November and left the country on the 12th. Hahaha! It was indeed a moment of impulse adventure. After hearing that a friend of mine was in Singapore, I decided to kidnap him for a 3days 2 nights adventure in Batam City, Indonesia.

My choice of flight was Air Asia, which had to be early because Singapore will only be my transit to Indonesia. We have to get to Harbour Front before 5pm, so that we’ll be able to get to Batam the same day. Reasons why I had to leave the house around 3am and I was expecting traffic along the way.

Oh by the way, FYI: some people are confused with NAIA Terminal 4. Just to be clear, it’s in the same vicinity with Terminal 2 Domestic Airport. Yeah, t2 and t4 is in the same area.

Going back to my crazy 7day adventure – My flight connects MNL- Kuala Lumpur – Singapore. My supposed to be 3.5 hours of air travel had a long break. I arrived at Changi Airport 3:00pm. (And I just realized I had to hurry up because our ferry leaves at 5pm!!) My buddy and I decided to meet at Chinatown MRT/ Outram Park which by the way is around 20-30minutes MRT ride from the Airport.

I even had to but a 18$SG worth of Sim card just to contact him, because I failed to set my network roaming.
Our adventure was more likely ‘Amazing Race Asia’ because we wanted to get to Batam as early as possible. We we’re panicking and had no time to discuss our plans upon arriving in Batam because we had to rush back to the MRT for a short ride to Habour Front. Hahaha!

Tangled strings

YarnsIt’s amazing how strangers suddenly connect and build something out of nothing. Like you had no clue that that certain someone yet exist. And then suddenly, somewhere along your journey… you become connected and blend into each other lives. Influence and summon new emotion that can either make or break us.

Life is indeed full of surprises. Just enjoy the journey, and make each moment count. You’ll never know when, where and how they’ll decide to walk out of your life.

The web of our life is of a mingled yarn, good and ill together.” -William Shakespeare.

Period of adjustment…

It’s been really crazy this past few months, and I had to stop writing for a while. My stone aged laptop just died and I had to find a replacement. I can’t blame it, but it has served me well for 7 years and 2 months. Yes, that long…
I’ve been a Windows user since 1995, and now I switched to Mac. Been adjusting but it’s not as complicated as I thought it was. I bought the MD104, a few weeks back,  which by the way, was really hard to find. Although there’s the retina edition, I don’t think it would cover the things I’m doing, so why bother when I only intend to use it for net browsing, writing, and watching movies. This is also the first time I used it in writing this blog. 🙂

I’m actually stuck in the house for a while and I haven’t actually moved a muscle to much since the 2nd quarter of this year. But a lot of things have changed. Is not like I’m against it, but aside from being predictable. It’s also really boring.

I’m also trying to sort all the photos and files that i had from before, but I just couldn’t find a good reason to finish it in one day. Hahaha! And then my new found form of entertainment. Oh yes, it’s not everyday you get even but it’s actually fun. To kill some time. you found something boring, out of boredom and ended up making fun of it. What comes around, goes around right?

November is coming and I was thinking of going to Japan and Singapore. Whichever gives a good reason to be visited. It’ll be nice to meet some new people as well in a new environment. So it’s something to look forward before this year ends. January will be a back to school event to me for my MA. Might as well enjoy this period of adjustment. It may not be as productive as I expected it to be but hopefully it will all end up just fine.

Double degree!

It’s a superrrrrrrrr late upload! But I can’t help but be proud of my little achievements. Finally! I have a double degree! AHHHHHHHHHHAYYYY!
It’s official! AB in Communications and AB in Consular and Diplomatic Affairs.
Although I finished my 2nd degree last Septmeber and was scheduled to attend the October graduation, I decided to go for the February schedule because aside from my dad wont be able to come, I was also doing my Montreal – New York assignment.
I know… again, for the nth time. The job..
But sometimes there are things that you can’t give up because you love it.
Anyway, after graduating, I pursued my language program since the school launched a 2 week program to experience France. But since I failed to make it in time – I decided to enroll on my own. 🙂

Summer buwis buhay x10

So I did miss home. Been away for a long time. I had to finish my 4 weeks language program in Sorbonne and of course, the undying meetings..
It has been really hard to keep up with my schedules lately.
Typically it’s a “3 days here, 2 days there, 15 hours home, 18hours flight, 3hours drive, 2 hours sleep, back to meeting, write reports, monitor account, email boss…” (repeat from the top) Although, I get to have 4-6days of random vacations due to emergency summons. Friends never fail to communicate and offer something to keep my brain from malfunctioning.

Every summer, we have this really really crazy challenge. We call it ‘buwis buhay’.
It’s an adventure where in we have no idea what to expect when we get there. 50/50!!
Although we were able to survive the long drives and crazy stuffs over night, it’s still sad that one of us can’t make it. 😦

Anyway, here’s the gang in Burot Beach in Calatagan, Batangas
Sampaguita Beach in Bauan, Batangas and then Pattaya, Thailand

So, I’m back from the pit…

Ohh! My bad, did I disappoint you?
Well, too bad, I’m still alive.
Although I wont deny the fact that I’m still in pain after the surgery. Teehee! 10452858_10202191999862284_2637859064934273579_o

50mm 1.8D vs 1.8G

image

So my D90 will be celebrating its 5th birthday, I decided to upgrade a little. Bought the D7100 this morning paired with a Nikkor 50mm 1.8G, while I bought the D90 a cheaper 50mm 1.8D…

Played with it this afternoon and made some crazy shots. Still trying to figure out things between the two, but I’ll update once I figure it out myself. Hahaha!
